The International Atomic Energy Agency will soon remove nuclear materials stored in a secret facility in Syria.

Axios, a news website, reported citing U.S. and Israeli officials that the move is being carried out after U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration reached an understanding with Syria and Israel.

The materials in question are kept at a facility known as “Site 99,” which is a remnant of Bashar al-Assad’s nuclear program.

That program was built around a secret Al-Kibar reactor in the Deir ez-Zor region; a facility for producing plutonium that was constructed with the help of North Korean experts, and which Israel bombed in 2007. After Assad’s fall in Azar 1403, Israel bombed the inputs to these facilities.
