🔻Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview that Masoud Pezeshkian, the president,
was the most important factor in reaching the Islamabad agreement.
According to Mehr News Agency, in a conversation with the Communications and Information Directorate of the President’s Office of Iran, Araghchi, while explaining his views on the details of the war, said that even the choice of Mr. Ghalibaf as the head of Iran’s negotiating team was suggested by Mr. Pezeshkian.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, at the time Mr. Pezeshkian had said that “I agree to negotiations provided that Mr. Ghalibaf is present.”
He emphasized that “the decisive support of the president of the Islamic Republic and his resistance to all other ideas and obstacles were the most important factors in achieving the Islamabad agreement.”
