🔻 Iran’s official news agency IRNA, in an exclusive report, wrote that after repeated requests from Iraq, Iran has granted a number of oil tankers from that country “permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.”
The report says that requests for the Iraqi oil tankers to transit “have been sent to Iran repeatedly through different channels.”
IRNA also wrote that during Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf’s trip to Iraq, the “main demand” of the officials in Baghdad was a “special permit” for the passage of tankers belonging to that country through the Strait of Hormuz.
The movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz—which is a vital route for the transfer of oil and gas in the region—has dropped sharply.
