🔶 Iranian Education Ministry official says Iranian schools in Kuwait have been shut down

Mohammad Salimi, head of the Center for International Affairs and Schools Abroad at Iran’s Ministry of Education, says the Kuwaiti government has closed Iranian schools operating in this country.

According to IRNA, Salimi on Sunday, 29 Shahrivar, called this move “illegal” and said Kuwait has prevented these schools from continuing their educational activities.

He pointed out that the Iranian schools based in the United Arab Emirates were also shut down last year, saying: “With the Kuwaiti government’s action as well, the permit for the Iranian schools operating in this country has been revoked, though we are still in talks for the schools’ renewed operation in Dubai.”

Salimi referred to the latest situation of Iranian schools abroad and added: “Matters related to overseas schools have, in general, been organized, and at present 71 Iranian schools are carrying out educational activities in 34 countries.”
