▪A shortage of medicine in Iran is no longer limited only to certain foreign or expensive drugs, and media outlets have reported that Iranian medicines have also become scarce. Now, in order to find a painkiller, a stomach medicine, or some nervous-system and sedative medications, people have to visit several pharmacies.

▪According to a report by Eghtesadnews, patients’ prescriptions are not filled in full at a pharmacy. Of a five-item prescription, two items are available—one may have a substitute, and the other two items have still not been delivered by the distribution company.

▪According to a report by Jame Jam, patients sometimes have to visit 10 or 20 pharmacies and may find the medicine in the 21st one, because the pharmacy that is financially stronger and has been able to purchase a larger quantity.
