🔻Iraq says it has seized a drone launch platform targeting Saudi Arabia’s oil pipeline

The head of the Iraqi Army’s media information center said that it has identified and seized the drone launch equipment that Saudi Arabia says was fired from Iraq.

The attack, which was carried out two days ago, caused the Saudi East-West oil pipeline to be temporarily shut down.

Saad Maan said the Iraqi government is in direct contact with Saudi officials for the exchange of information.

According to Iraq’s state-run news agency, an intelligence and security task force tracked and seized the launch equipment.

Mr. Maan also said that “Iraq has adopted preventive sovereignty” and that “it not only prevents attacks on its own soil, but also does not allow its territory to become a launchpad for an attack against another country, or for Iraq to be part of a proxy war.”
