🔶 Iraqchi criticizes France for “hypocrisy” over human rights

Abbas Iraqchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, reacted to statements by European countries as well as to a post by his French counterpart on the X social network (formerly Twitter) regarding executions in Iran.

In his message, Iran’s foreign minister wrote: “Countries like France should stop lecturing the world about human rights and international laws. This is an obvious and shameful hypocrisy.”

He added: “Your support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and your aggressive attacks on Iran, has destroyed any moral superiority you may have imagined.”

On Wednesday, August 12 (21 Mordad), Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, sharply criticized the performance of the Islamic Republic in a post on the X social network and wrote: “Seven months after the widespread atrocities against the people of Iran who rose up to demand justice and dignity, this regime continues to spill blood by carrying out an ever-increasing number of executions.”
