🔶 Gulf Waterway Management Authority: The Strait of Hormuz is still blocked

The official account of the Gulf Waterway Management Authority on the X social network (formerly Twitter) reported “continued blockage” of the Strait of Hormuz.

In its message, the authority stated: “The claims and successive tweets by American officials about lifting the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz do not change the reality; the Strait of Hormuz is still blocked and will not be reopened until Iran’s conditions are accepted.”

Before that, Mohsen Rezaei, the new secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, had threatened that, by accusing the United States of creating insecurity in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, “as long as this country does not change its behavior and accept Iran’s conditions, the Islamic Republic will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz”.

He had also said that “if an agreement between Iran and Oman is reached regarding the transit and passage route in the Strait of Hormuz, this agreement will be a matter separate from the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz”.

At the beginning of this week, Donald Trump, the U.S. president, claimed that the United States “has cleared mines in the Strait of Hormuz and this important shipping route for commercial traffic is now open.”
