🔶Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon

Lebanese media reported Israeli airstrikes on the Ali Tâher heights in the south of the country; a place where, on the evening of Saturday, August 15, three Israeli soldiers were severely wounded following an attack by an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah.

According to The Times of Israel, a few hours before these strikes began, local officials had informed residents of Upper Galilee that during the night, they would hear the sounds of explosions due to the activity of the Israeli army in Lebanon.

These strikes indicate just how fragile the agreement signed on Friday (June 26) in Washington between Israel and Lebanon remains.

The 14-point agreement is intended to pave the way for a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

Among the main elements of the agreement are, in addition to establishing “durable peace,” “the confirmed disarmament of non-state armed groups and the dismantling of the infrastructure associated with them.”
