Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, wrote on Tuesday, 27 Mordad, on the X network: “The people of Iran, great people, are the main victims of this period of severe tensions in the Middle East, caught between the bloody crackdown on the protests of Dey and the bombings.”

Barrot added: “Precisely because France is standing with the people of Iran and supports Iranian artists, scientists and researchers, two French diplomats were deliberately attacked on 28 Tir.”

He added: “I had said that this action would have consequences that are unacceptable. Two Islamic Republic diplomats in France will be expelled in the coming days.”
