🔺 Kurdish sources: Barzani met twice with Qaani and conveyed U.S. messages

◾ Senior Iraqi Kurdish sources confirmed the transfer of messages between Washington and Tehran under the leadership of Nechirvan Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

◾ The confirmation comes while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had denied Donald Trump’s remarks, the U.S. president, about the existence of informal communication channels.

◾ Sources close to the Kurdistan Region’s presidency told Al Arabiya that Barzani’s role as a mediator between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic began in early Esfand and a few days after the start of Washington and Israel’s airstrikes on Tehran.

◾ Based on what these sources said, Barzani met twice in Baghdad with Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
