Local sources told Iran International that the body of Hassan Rahimi, a civil activist who had been abducted by Islamic Republic security agents, was found after 590 days outside the village of Chal Khameh in Miandoab, alongside the Jiighati river.

According to these sources, Ministry of Intelligence agents raided the home of Hassan Rahimi’s parents and put them under pressure so they would not publicize the case.

On 23 Aban of last year, the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances, in response to a letter from the Association for the Defense of Political Prisoners in Iranian Azerbaijan (ADAP), said that it had, by sending a letter to the Islamic Republic, called for an investigation into the status of this civil activist and for determining his fate.
