Mahboobe Shahbani, a political prisoner held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, is spending the seventh day of her hunger strike under unfavorable physical conditions. According to information received, her phone contact has been cut off since the third day of her hunger strike, and she has been transferred to Ward Six.

It had previously been reported that on the third day of her hunger strike, Shahbani was transferred from quarantine to Ward Six under pressure and threats, and was deprived of visits and phone contact.

Based on new information, several prisoners have seen her in the infirmary and said that her physical condition has been very poor.

Shahbani has gone on a hunger strike in protest against the prison’s unfavorable conditions and the uncertainty surrounding her judicial case, and she continues to insist on her demand that all detainees be kept together in a single ward and that they not be transferred to regular wards.

According to this information, during her period of detention she has also become ill with a skin disease, and so far she has been moved between different wards about five times.

It had previously been reported that the unfavorable and unhygienic conditions of the quarantine caused her to contract a skin disease.
