Trump says, “We don’t want to meet with Iranians; they want to”

🔸 The U.S. president, in various remarks on Thursday, the 5th of Shahrivar, and in a post he published on his social media platform, Truth Social, repeatedly referred to Iran and said that “we don’t want to meet with Iranians; they want [to].”

🔸 Donald Trump, at a ceremony for signing an executive order to change the name of Canada’s “Lake Ontario” to “Lake America,” told reporters at the White House: “We don’t want to negotiate with them. We’re not looking for a meeting or anything else.”

🔸 He then, in a post on Truth Social, attacked a report by Jonathan Hunt of Fox News about Iran, calling it a “special report and unfairly overly disappointing about the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

🔸 In this post as well, the U.S. president, once again referring to officials in Tehran, emphasized that “I don’t want to meet; they want to. In fact, they’re begging to reach an agreement.”
