Majed Al Ansari, the spokesperson of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, announced on X that Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, will arrive in Tehran on Thursday, the 5th of Shahrivar, and will meet with a number of officials of the Islamic Republic to discuss ways to reduce tensions and to provide the conditions suitable for consultations and dialogue.
Al Ansari said this trip is in line with Qatar’s firm position that taking the diplomatic path is the best way to resolve disputes and strengthen security and stability in the region.
He added that in these talks, freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the necessity of returning the status of this waterway to the conditions prior to 9 Esfand will also be examined.
