Many of those who joined the protests in Dey had come into the streets three years earlier in support of the revolutionary uprising “Woman, Life, Freedom.” Most of the demands were similar in both periods. Disgust with imposition and coercion, and with having one’s will imposed for the purpose of changing the government, was the thread that linked these two protest periods.
