U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday the first of Mehr, after meeting with Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, in New York, that reaching an agreement with the Islamic Republic requires effort and negotiation over time.

Rubio added that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, has multiple options at his disposal, and the military option remains on the table.

The U.S. secretary of state also emphasized that Washington will continue to defend its interests and keep the straits open.
