🔺More than 100 directives restricting women’s rights since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan

▪The Taliban were celebrating the fifth anniversary of their rule while the United Nations said that since their return to power in Afghanistan, they have issued more than 100 directives restricting women’s rights.

▪According to a UN report, these directives cover almost every aspect of women’s everyday lives, from education and employment to freedom of movement, healthcare, and access to justice.

▪Susan Ferguson, the Special Representative of the UN Women entity in Afghanistan, announced these figures on Friday, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the Taliban government. She said Afghanistan is facing the most severe crisis of women’s rights in the world.

▪Girls over the age of 12 are barred from attending secondary schools and universities.
