🔶 Netanyahu called Britain “Islamic Republic of Britain”
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, in a lengthy podcast interview with the country’s Army Radio, called Britain “the Islamic Republic of Britain.”
According to The Times of Israel, Netanyahu, in the interview, referred to Randolph Churchill, the son of Winston Churchill, and Winston Spencer Churchill, the grandson of Britain’s prime minister during World War II.
He said that the two—who, like Winston Churchill, were journalists—came to Israel during the Six-Day War and covered the war “in a very positive way” for Israel.
While making a brief laugh, Netanyahu said: “Now try to find something like this in Britain, where you can call it the Islamic Republic of Britain.”
The interviewer went on to ask whether “all of Europe hasn’t gone that way too?”; a question that apparently referred to Muslim communities in European countries and the increasing critical positions of European governments toward Israel.
Netanyahu replied, “Yes.”
The Israeli prime minister added: “The first Islamic Republic with nuclear weapons will be the Islamic Republic of Britain.”
