🔻Oman’s foreign minister will visit Iran on Tuesday

Ismail Baghai, the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that Badr al-Busaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, will travel to Tehran on Tuesday, the third of Shahrivar.

According to Mr. Baghai, during this visit Badr al-Busaidi will meet with Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister.

The spokesperson did not provide specific details about the subject of the meeting and only said that bilateral and regional issues will be at the center of the talks.

He expressed hope that the dialogue between “the two countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz” will help “strengthen peace and security in the region.”

Iran and Oman had previously started talks regarding the route of ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. At the time, Iranian officials said that Tehran and Muscat had reached an agreement on a new shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz.

The meeting takes place while Field Marshal Asim Munir, commander of Pakistan’s armed forces, is traveling to Tehran to meet with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In recent months, he has been one of the main mediators in talks between Iran and the United States.
