🔸 Pakistan condemns Houthi attack on a ship and the killing of 3 citizens of this country

Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s foreign minister, condemned on Wednesday the Houthi attack on a ship in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and said that three Pakistani citizens were killed in the attack and another person was injured.

In the Tuesday attack on this ship near Yemen, a total of 6 people were killed.

In a message on the social media platform X, the Pakistani foreign minister wrote that such attacks endanger the lives of innocent people, constitute a violation of international law, and are a serious threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security, and the safety of commercial transport in the Red Sea.

These cases are described as the first known casualties resulting from Houthi attacks on ships in the latest round of fighting.

With the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran, attention has once again turned to the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in southern Yemen.

Bab al-Mandeb is considered one of the alternative routes for transporting oil from Saudi Arabia, and an increase in attacks in this area could further increase pressure on energy trade and international shipping.
