🔸 Pakistan: We are trying to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table

Tahir Andrabī, a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a press briefing that his country is working to bring Iran and the United States “back to the negotiating table” and to prevent actions that could undermine the peace process.

The remarks come as efforts continue to implement an understanding aimed at restoring a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and resolving disputes over the Strait of Hormuz.

In recent months, Pakistan, along with Qatar and Oman, has been one of the active players in mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington.

Andrabī said that on August 10, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister met with officials from Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. According to him, Pakistan’s and Iran’s foreign ministers also exchanged views on “efforts to strengthen peace and stability.”

The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry also referred to a trip by Pakistan’s interior minister to Tehran.

He said that this trip provides another opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and regional security.
