Pakistan’s foreign minister strongly condemned the Houthis’ attack on a non-military commercial vessel in the Red Sea. In an X post, Ishaq Dar wrote that, based on the information available, three Pakistani nationals were killed in the incident and one person was injured.

He said: “Such attacks endanger the lives of the innocent, constitute a violation of international law, and pose a serious threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security, and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea.”

Ishaq Dar added that Islamabad is in contact with Saudi Arabia’s officials and Yemen’s official government to clarify more details about the incident.

Yemen’s Ministry of Transport said the “Tehama” ship, flying the Yemeni flag, was targeted three times with a ballistic missile while passing through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, caught fire, and suffered material damage.
