🔻Pezeşkian: Imports from China have risen from one train per week to three trains per day

Iran’s government says it will not remain passive in response to the U.S. maritime blockade and is finding alternative routes to ensure the continuity of trade and the country’s needs.

Masoud Pezeşkian, the president of Iran, said at a press conference: «On this path, the government is pursuing the development of economic interactions with countries in the region and making use of the capacities of international mechanisms, including the Eurasian Economic Union, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and ECO.»

As an example, Pezeşkian pointed out that while the maritime blockade continues, Iran’s import capacity from China via the railway route has increased from one train per week to three trains per day.

He added that Iran is currently negotiating and planning to activate other routes through the Republic of Azerbaijan, Russia, and other regional routes as well.
