Pezeşkian: We support Palestine because it is oppressed, not because it is Shiite

The Islamic Republic of Iran has supported Palestine for more than four decades—not because Palestinians are Shiites—which they are not—but because they are oppressed. This is what it means to champion Islam.

In his will, Imam Ali (A) says: Be hostile to the oppressor and be the ally and supporter of the oppressed.

He also, quoting the Prophet (P), says: Reconciliation among people (creating unity) is more important than obligatory prayer and fasting.
