📸 Photo of the Day: A Reminder of a Wall That Symbolized Dictatorship

On the 65th anniversary of the construction of the Berlin Wall, an arts structure resembling a wall has been erected at Brandenburg Gate. The structure is about 3 meters tall and 30 meters long. Made of aluminum, it appears opaque or transparent depending on the viewing angle. The construction of the Berlin Wall began on August 13, 1961. By the time the wall fell, at least 140 people were killed during attempts to flee East Germany. With the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, the unity of Germany was revived once again.
