Pressure on media and information-sharing by the Islamic Republic is becoming lawful; yesterday, Monday 26 Mordad 1405, the Islamic Consultative Assembly approved a measure under which the Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence of the Revolutionary Guards are designated as enforcers in cases involving citizens’ participation in information-sharing. Although this measure must be approved by the Guardian Council in order to become law, the establishment of prison punishments for information-sharing and even for scientific participation has met with various reactions.
