Some Social Security retirees in Shush held a protest gathering on Sunday, 18 Mordad, in front of the Social Security building in the city. The protesters demanded that their living conditions be addressed.

The runaway rise in prices, alongside insufficient retirement benefits and the lack of appropriate health insurance, has disrupted the lives of this segment of society.

During the gathering, the protesters chanted slogans including “Retiree’s benefits are only for a week,” “Neither the Majles nor the government—nobody is thinking about the people,” and “We have neither money nor bread—damn this price hike,” to protest the fall in purchasing power and the neglect of government institutions.
