Reuters, in an exclusive report, wrote that Iran, in a diplomatic effort coordinated with the Gulf coastal countries, had explicitly warned its neighbors that if they were unable to persuade Donald Trump to stop US attacks on Iran and instead pursue an end to the war through negotiations, Tehran would target their oil, power, and water facilities.

According to a senior Iranian official, the warning included the possibility of attacks on energy facilities, oil fields, refineries, power grids, water infrastructure, transportation networks, and other strategic targets belonging to the closest Arab allies of Washington.

According to sources, this message was part of Iran’s broader effort to prevent the United States from taking further military action; an effort that was pursued by raising the prospect of severe economic disruption across the Gulf states.
