Reuters reported that oil prices rose by more than two percent, and the price of Brent oil again exceeded $90 per barrel. This increase occurred after U.S. forces attacked two launchers belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Larak Island.
Reuters described the attack as the first known attack by U.S. forces on targets in Iran since late July. The rise in oil prices is happening at a time when military developments around the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions to the passage of oil tankers have increased concerns about energy supply through this route.
