🔸Reza Dalman, a protesting student who last Dey had hung a mouse-shaped puppet from a tree as a jab at Ali Khamenei on the campus of Sharif University, has been expelled from the university and barred for four years from studying at all universities across the country.

🔸The Student Affairs Office of Sharif University of Technology has announced that this ruling was issued in connection with allegations including “disruption of public order and educational security in the university environment” and “insulting Islamic and national sanctities.”

🔸The student’s action during the protests of Dey 1404—an allusion to the leader of the former Islamic Republic being called “Mouse-Ali” by opponents of the government—triggered a sharp reaction from the government’s supporters in Iran.

🔸Reza Dalman, who was arrested in Esfand 1404 and released after a month on bail, has posted on X the disciplinary council’s letter stating his expulsion.

🔸Previously, more than one thousand students and alumni of Sharif University of Technology had, in an open letter to the head of the university, protested “the intensification of the security atmosphere” on campus and called for his resignation if he were unable to defend students and the university.
