🔸Iraq’s Kurdistan Region Counterterrorism Administration announced that the two drones, launched from inside Iranian territory on the evening of Sunday, 25 Mordad, targeted the office of Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, as well as the residence of the head of intelligence in the autonomous region.

🔸According to the administration’s statement released on Monday, “two drones carrying explosive material of the Hadid-110 type were fired from across Iran’s borders toward the private office of the Kurdistan region prime minister and the residence of the director of the Parastin agency (the Kurdistan intelligence organization). Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.”

🔸In a post on the X platform, Masrour Barzani strongly condemned these “brazen and unacceptable violations” and wrote that “these actions constitute a dangerous escalation of tensions and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region, and such attacks will not prevent us from continuing to carry out our duties and protect our citizens.”

🔸The report of the attack is being published one day after the Axios website reported that, in the previous round of negotiations with Tehran, the government of Donald Trump had taken assistance from the head of Iraq’s Kurdistan region to establish direct contact with the senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
