Reza Sepahvand, spokesperson for the Parliament’s Energy Commission, confirmed the use of methanol in the gasoline blend and said that the amount of methanol currently being used is about half a percent.
Sepahvand, regarding concerns about the impact of methanol on cars, said: “The amount of methanol used in the gasoline blend is currently about half a percent, and this amount does not create any problem for cars.”
In response to a question about the possibility of methanol damaging cars or their parts, he added: “It is not true that this blend damages cars or causes damage to car parts, and at this level it does not create any problem.”
