Reza Taghipour Anvari, Tehran’s representative in parliament, told the Mehr House News Agency: “Trump has exaggerated and promoted the maritime economic blockade with the aim of creating fear, while he cannot continue it. This aggression is completely baseless and contrary to international laws, and its continuation will be met on the ground with harsher reactions from the Islamic Republic.”

Taghipour said that America has no hope of being able to use military power to force the Islamic Republic to back down on its “revolutionary stances” and surrender, so we can end this war by achieving a “superpower position” in the world.

The member of parliament added: “Trump is more looking for an excuse and media cover to conceal his defeats in the war with Iran and our control of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the victory of Ansarullah Yemen in gaining control of the Bab al-Mandeb.”
