Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by issuing a statement, described the drone attacks on Masrour Barzani’s office—Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region—and the place of residence of the head of the security apparatus of the region as “brutal.”
In its statement, Saudi Arabia did not name the perpetrators of the attacks, but stressed that it strongly condemns the aforementioned attacks and considers the action an overt violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Saudi Arabia also announced its complete opposition to all hostile actions targeting official and political figures, as well as to any actions that would undermine the security of Iraq’s government institutions or destabilize its security and stability.
The Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Forces announced on Monday, 26 Mordad, that two drones carrying explosive materials targeted Masrour Barzani’s office and the residence of the head of the Kurdistan Region’s security apparatus.
