The International Organization for Migration announced on Friday, the 27th of Shahrivar, that since the start of the new fighting in Yemen, 112,000 people have been displaced within the country, and thousands are currently fleeing toward Djibouti by sea.

According to the statement by this international body, people are fleeing to Djibouti in unsafe boats, while having little water and food.

At the same time, officials in Somaliland and Puntland have also reported the arrival of Yemeni refugees.

In this regard, «Sanderine Dzamour», a representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Djibouti, told reporters that in less than a week, nearly three thousand people have reached Djibouti via the Gulf of Aden.

She said that the Djiboutian government has prepared itself for the entry of a maximum of 10,000 refugees, and that the arrival of this number of displaced people from Yemen has put a great deal of pressure on the country’s health and education services.
