🔸The price of the US dollar in Iran’s free market rose again on Saturday, the 7th of Shahrivar, crossing 206,000 tomans and setting a new record.

🔸At the time this news was prepared, websites reporting exchange rates were quoting the dollar at around 206,400 tomans.

🔸Some reports indicate that the price of the dollar, during hours of trading on Saturday, also exceeded 207,000 tomans.

🔸On Wednesday, the 4th of Shahrivar, after several days of increase and reaching around 205,000 tomans, it temporarily fell below 200,000 tomans and was being traded in the range of 199,000 tomans.

🔸The renewed increase in the exchange rate in recent weeks has coincided with the intensification of the United States’ economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and the start of the so-called “economic expulsion” plan. This is while Iran’s naval blockade, which the US Army began implementing from 23 Tir, is still ongoing.

🔸Last week, the Central Bank of Iran, in response to the rise in the exchange rate, announced the injection of $500 million in banknotes into the banking network.
