The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Friday, 16 Mordad, sanctioned five individuals and 13 companies and exchanges for their connections to Islamic Republic of Iran financial networks, evading sanctions, cryptocurrency-related activities, and support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Saeed Qasempoor, associated with Bank Shahr; Amir Hendi, associated with Titan Exchange; Siaush Kiyvanpour, associated with cryptocurrency networks and the IRGC; Peyvand Mohammad, associated with Farab Sorous Afagh Qeshm company; and Shima Sharifi were added to the sanctions list.
The exchanges Aban Tether, Alps International, Aydeniz General Trading, Bloo Dash General Trading, Kailafang, Crypto Home DMCC, Gliming HK Trading, NFT Home DMCC, Ovvido Overseas, Shelbbit General Trading, Shelbbbit Technologies, SHPPS Shelbbbit, and Titan Exchange were also included in the list of companies and exchanges that were sanctioned.
OFAC said the measure was carried out within the framework of Executive Order 13902 against the Islamic Republic’s financial sectors and also Executive Order 13224 related to supporting terrorism.
