With 86 votes in favor and 11 against, the U.S. Senate approved a bill for new sanctions against Russia and the Islamic Republic, in the name of the late Senator “Lindsey Graham.”

The bill aims to increase economic pressure, giving the president the authority to impose heavy tariffs of up to 100% against major energy buyers of Russia.

It also extends energy- and arms-related sanctions against #Iran until 2031 and sets out new restrictions on banks, state energy projects, and the “shadow fleet” of Russian oil tankers.
