The United States rejected a request by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Washington to lead a military operation against Yemen’s Houthis.

U.S. officials said Washington would support a Saudi operation but would not lead it, especially because Yemeni forces are currently targeting ships linked to Saudi Arabia, not U.S. ships in the Red Sea.
