Delcy Rodríguez, interim president of Venezuela, said on Saturday that the energy agreement with the United States will be valid for 25 years and its goal is to increase crude oil production to 1.5 million barrels per day and to preserve Venezuela’s sovereignty over this country’s natural resources.

In her speech late on Saturday night, Rodríguez called the agreement “historic” and said it will help revive the country’s economy and increase government revenues, and will play a role in shaping Venezuela’s future.
