🔸 Trump’s reaction to Tehran’s request for compensation: Iran should pay damages

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, wrote in a fresh message pointing out that the Islamic Republic has demanded compensation for damages incurred in recent military conflicts, “That’s an interesting idea,” adding that Iran too should pay damages.

Mohammad-Bagher Zolqadr, who until Sunday was the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced six conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz on social media a few days before leaving that position; one of them was “paying the ‘war compensation.’”

In his latest message on Monday, August 10, on the “Truth Social” network, Trump wrote in response to the request that the United States will also demand compensation in all future negotiations.

He emphasized that the United States is also seeking compensation for people who were killed or injured by roadside bombs and in Iran-linked clashes led by Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force.

He said that this demand would include the families of those killed aboard the USS Cole and thousands of others who “lost their lives in the battles.”
