🔻Trump said he wants to reduce the level of U.S. maneuvers with South Korea because of the North Korean leader

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, has said that due to the “very good relationship” he has with Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, he wants to significantly reduce joint military exercises with South Korea.

Mr. Trump, in a post on a social media network, called these annual exercises costly and said he is not satisfied with them.

Donald Trump added in his post that he has instructed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to limit these maneuvers.

In justifying his decision, the U.S. president said that during his term in office, North Korea has not had “threatening” behavior and has behaved “politely.”

Joint U.S.-South Korea maneuvers are set to begin tomorrow, Monday.

South Korea has not yet reacted to the new remarks by Mr. Trump.
