🔻On the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s return to power, political parties, civil society activists, the women’s movement, and human rights defenders have criticized the Taliban’s performance and emphasized the continued pursuit of justice and rights in Afghanistan.

These groups say that repression, discrimination, the monopoly on power, and broad restrictions have put Afghanistan’s future outlook under challenge.

They have also asked the international community not to ignore the situation of the people of Afghanistan, especially women and girls, and to take action to prevent what they call “catastrophic consequences.”

Islamic Society of Afghanistan led by Salahuddin Rabbani, the Islamic National Movement of Afghanistan led by Abdul Rashid Dostum, the “Freedom Front of Afghanistan,” the National Institute of Music of Afghanistan, and an independent coalition of the protest movements of Afghan women are among the institutions and currents that have taken critical positions on this occasion.
