🔻خروج دو هواپیمای سوخترسان آمریکایی از بلغارستان پس از اعتراض ایران به استقرار آنها
Bulgaria’s defense minister said that two US Air Force refueling aircraft have left the Bezmer air base in that country.
The move came nearly a month after the aircraft were deployed in Bulgaria, prompting a protest from Iran.
The United States, which has been at war with Iran since February 28, had asked for the temporary deployment of these aircraft in Bulgaria under an agreement for shared use of military facilities.
Iran had said at the time that this deployment meant complicity in “aggression and war crimes”—a charge that the Bulgarian government rejected.
Dimitar Stoyanov, Bulgaria’s defense minister, said that the two US Air Force “KC-135” aircraft left the country on Friday.
The deployment of these aircraft, which was approved by Bulgaria’s parliament on July 22, was accompanied by protests from some residents in areas around the base. They were worried that the aircraft could be targeted by Iranian missiles or drones.
The Bulgarian defense minister said that all flights of these aircraft during their temporary deployment carried out training missions over allied countries, and Sofia “had no information about a direct threat to national security.”
