⚡U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday Aug. 19 that in response to the Islamic Republic’s request for war reparations, he has instructed his representatives to seriously raise the demand for compensation from the Iranian regime for Americans and other victims of actions by the Islamic Republic in all future negotiations.

President Trump said the Islamic Republic’s request for compensation for the damages from five months of war had not been raised in talks with the United States so far. The demand for reparations from the Iranian regime is among the conditions that the Islamic Republic has recently put forward for the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The head of the U.S. government called for reparations to be paid by the Islamic Republic to the families of Americans who were killed or severely injured in attacks and clashes related to the Iranian regime. He also included the families of the victims of the USS Cole and other people killed in regional clashes among those who should receive compensation.
