The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization reported on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar that three vessels in two separate incidents in the Strait of Hormuz were targeted by unknown projectiles, and one of the tankers suffered a severe fire.
Based on a report the organization published via the Joint Maritime Information Center, on 19 Shahrivar two vessels, while passing through the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman, were each targeted by two unknown projectiles and one of them caught fire.
In another incident on 22 Shahrivar, a tanker sent an emergency message after being hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. The management of the tanker reported hours later that a severe fire had occurred aboard it.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization assessed the threat level to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz as still “severe”.
