🔻US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, special representatives of the US government, met with mediators regarding a possible agreement to end the war with Iran.

The IRIB news agency also reported that Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, met with Steve Witkoff on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The agency wrote that it called “communicating Iran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz” the main reason for this meeting. IRIB listed as Iran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz: “immediate lifting of the naval blockade, immediate payment of all Iran’s frozen assets, and an end to the war on all fronts of the resistance.”

The heads of countries are currently in New York to take part in the United Nations General Assembly, which began today.

Pakistan and Qatar are the mediators in the Iran-US talks.

Pakistan’s interior minister went to Tehran yesterday, and Qatar also said its representatives are transferring messages between Iran and the United States.
