🔺Venezuela and Israel restore bilateral relations after 17 years

▪Venezuela and Israel announced the resumption of bilateral cooperation after 17 years of severed diplomatic relations; an action that could indicate a change in relations between Venezuela and Israel.

▪The governments of Venezuela and Israel said that following the visit of an Israeli humanitarian delegation to Venezuela after two earthquakes on June 24, the two countries have agreed to continue technical bilateral cooperation in disaster relief and reconstruction after the incident.

▪Caracas cut its ties with Israel in 2009. The decision was taken during the presidency of Hugo Chávez in protest of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip.
