🔶 White House bars CNN, MSN Now and Politico reporters from entry

After a directive by Donald Trump, the U.S. president, to impose restrictions and bans on several news outlets, reporters from the television networks CNN and MS NOW, as well as the news and analysis website Politico, were barred from entering the White House.

According to reports, representatives of these three outlets, citing new bans imposed by Trump, faced obstruction by security forces when they tried to enter the White House to cover news, and said that their press accreditation cards had been revoked.

The move comes amid recent sharp criticism by Trump of how these outlets have covered the news. He called the reports published by these networks “Fake News” and had announced on Friday that he would block their access to the White House.

In an official statement, the CNN news network said in defense of its reporters: “We will not back down from our duty to keep the government and other public institutions accountable.”
